Patong is not as well known for its Go-Go Bars as other parts of Thailand, such as Walking Street in Pattaya and Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza and Patpong in Bangkok. However, if you are prepared to explore a little, you will find the Go-Go bars that do exists in Patong are every bit as good as their counterparts elsewhere in Thailand.

Most of the Go-Go bars in Patong are clustered together on Soi Seadragon, which is just off Bangla Road. These bars feature the standard central stage, with scantily clad young females dancing around poles, or performing some kind of floor show. Public nudity is illegal in Thailand, but now and then the girls tend to push the limit, exposing far more flesh than the police would be pleased to see.

Some of the better Go-Go bars in Patong offer a little more in the way of entertainment. This may consist of singers, dancers and other types of floor show (including some that are rather raunchy). Every girl working in a Go-Go bar has a number, if a customer likes one of them, he simply gives the serving staff her number and they will call her over to his table when she next takes a break from the dancing on the stage.

When a girl comes to sit with a customer, it is usual and polite to buy her a “lady drink”, which is nothing more than a normal drink at a largely increased cost, with the girl receiving a small commission for every lady drink she is bought.

If the customer likes the girl, he can arrange to “bar fine” her. This involves paying the bar a small fee (usually around 300-500 Baht) so that the girl can stop working for the evening, and either stay in the Go-Go bar with the customer, or go with them somewhere else. By this stage the girl has probably already made it quite clear she is available for “extra adult services” and it is up to the client and the girl to work out a reasonable price, usually between 1000 to 3000 Baht for the night.

One of the most popular Go-Go bars in Patong is Rock Hard A-Go-Go, it is also generally agreed to be the oldest Go-Go bar in Patong. This is an extremely well run operation, and one that is the exception to the norm, it can actually be quite a relaxing place to enjoy a few drinks and take a look at the sexy girls available. Rock Hard A-Go-Go is located at the top of Bangla Road, right opposite the Margarita Bar.

The pair of Go-Go bars named Suzy Wong’s 1 and Suzy Wong’s 2 make up part of the Go-Go bar group which also includes Exotica and Showgirls A-Go-Go, all easy to find on Soi Seadragon. Suzy Wong’s puts on shows throughout the evening and are famed for having some of the best girls in their stable, definitely a place to take a peek for a companion for the evening.
