Massage in Patong
Phuket is known as a premier vacation destination for many reason; its stunning beaches, delicious food, pulsating night-life and friendly people amongst them. However, there is one aspect of Thailand which new visitors may not be aware of, and this is Thai Massage. Massage in Patong is available just about everywhere!
In the western hemisphere, massage is usually very expensive and certainly not something that the average person can afford to partake on a regular basis. In Thailand however, massage is part of the culture and relatively inexpensive (price is usually about 200 Baht per hour) depending upon the massage shop or spa you visit, and it can be of exceptional quality.
Thai Massage can be more strenuous than the kind of massage techniques used in the west. Typically, a good Thai Massage will see the masseur spending one or two hours carefully pulling the major muscles away from the bone, and then needing them back into place. The final part of the massage involves stretching the relaxed muscles and tendons.
For those who prefer a more sedate kind of massage, almost every spa and massage parlour in Patong will offer a relaxing Oil Massage. This involves the application of oils, and the gentle stroking and needing of muscles, much less strenuous than a traditional Thai Massage. Make sure you let your Thai masseuse know whether you prefer a relaxing Oil Massage or the more strenuous Thai Massage.
Patong has its fair share of massage parlours and spas. Almost every street which tourists frequent will have several, from full spa centers offering numerous treatments to simple massage shops.
Some massage shops will offer extra services such as Christin Massage on Rat-U-thid Road.
