Thailand is known as a premier vacation destination for many reason; its stunning beaches, delicious food and friendly people amongst them. However, there is one aspect of Thailand which potential visitors may not be aware of, and this is Thai massage. Massage in Patong is available almost everywhere!

In the western hemisphere, massage is usually fairly expensive, certainly not something average people can afford to partake of regularly. In Thailand, massage is part of the culture, it is inexpensive (usually less than 200 Baht an hour), and depending upon the massage parlor or spa you visit, it can be of exceptional quality.

Thai massage is more strenuous than kind of massage techniques we are used to in the west. Typically, a good Thais massage will see the masseur spending one or two hours, carefully pulling the major muscles away from the bone, and then needing them back into place. The final part of the massage involves stretching the relaxed muscles and tendons.

For those who prefer a more sedate kind of massage, almost every spa and massage parlor on Phuket will offer oil massage. An oil massage involves the application of oils, and the gentle stroking and needing of muscles, much less strenuous than a traditional Thai massage.

Patong has its fair share of massage parlors and spas, almost every street which tourists frequent will have several, from full spa centers to simple massage shops.
