Golf In Thailand

Over the past two decades the golf in Thailand has improved drastically. The country boasts plenty of truly international class golf courses, many of which can be found on Phuket. However, if we consider the fact that most people who take a golfing holiday are also interested in activities that do not involve golf, then Phuket becomes possibly the premier golfing location in Thailand for sunshine golf combined with a beach holiday.

Top Phuket golf courses such as Thai Muang Golf Club, Phuket Country Club, Laguna Phuket Golf Club, Loch Palm Golf Club, Mission Hills Golf Club, Red Mountain Course and Blue Canyon Country Club are all challenging courses, professionally designed to give a rich experience to players of all ability levels, from beginners to scratch players.

One thing to note though, is the fact that caddies are compulsory at almost every course. Don’t worry, they are inexpensive, only around 200 Baht per round (at the time of writing). They are also all female! Anyone who has ever played golf in Thailand will know how much fun it can be having a pretty young female caddie, full of smiles and mischief, accompanying you around the course. Don’t expect much in the way of advice from these girls, they are not golf pros, but what they lack in golfing expertise they make up with charm. However, there are some excellent caddies who really know their course, if you require this kind of caddie then ask the girls who knows the golf course the best, they will hook you up with the right caddie.

Phuket golf is overall superb, the courses have been cunningly designed, they are kept to a very high standard and the level of service from staff is excellent. Price wise, golf in Thailand is cheaper than the Western hemisphere, although if you are looking for Budget golf, then Phuket may not be the best place to find it.
